why i like netbooks

The principle of a netbook, as far as I can see is that you have the same functionality of a laptop but in a much smaller case.

I don't particularly like tablet computers quite so much, I think they have much further to go. They're just beefed up touch screen mobile phones as far as I can see. This for me makes them undesirable as if you wish to do anything other than take brief notes then you'll find yourself in a world of pain due to the want of a keyboard. If the work that you're doing doesn't require any keyboard input then I think you'll be ok. Once you have on-screen keyboards then you loose a great deal of screen space, which is a shame as it'd be like trying to work through a letterbox.

drivers

The ''only'' driver problem that I've had with this netbook is for it's wireless. However, this was simple enough to solve with ndiswrapper in the usual way. The drivers for it are available on the web.

sudo apt-get install ndiswrapper*
sudo ndiswrapper -i net8187Se.inf
sudo ndiswrapper -
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
